The ABAA Lapel Pin, an excellent way to show your pride in being an ABAA member, has been redesigned. The flags are now uniform and the font, Old English, more in keeping with the dignity of our organization.
The new fellows had the opportunity to interact with members of ABAA and TLG. The highlight of the reception were speeches by Retired Ambassador Thomas Pickering and Congressman Emeritus Charles Rangel, for which the Pickering and Rangel Programs are named.
On April 19, 2018, Georgetown University president, Dr. John J. DeGioia, hosted a luncheon at the university for members of the Association of Black American Ambassadors (ABAA).
On June 7, ABAA and TLG members welcomed the 2016 cohort of the Pickering, Rangel and Payne Fellows at the AFSA Headquarters in a reception that attracted numerous high-level officials of the Department, Congress, Howard University and the Washington Center.
